Oh, Hannah, love, you should think about penning a book. On what? I have no idea. All I know is that your literary prose is so picturesque and pleasing to the soul. Your musings take us right to the places and experiences about which you write, and we are all the better for it. Stay sandy and blessed, Southern sister.
what a beautiful thing to say, thank you. Truly. You’ve got me over here misty eyed and grinning like I just pulled a fresh pie from the oven. I don’t know what kind of book it would be either, but the idea’s been tugging at me lately like a little thread I can’t ignore. Maybe one day I’ll follow it all the way. Until then, I’ll keep showing up here, sandy toes and messy kitchen and all. Sending love right back to you, my sweet Southern sister. 💛
I came her to express the same -- thank you for putting it so well! Looking forward to the day my toes are in the sand with Hannah's book in my hands!!❤️
Thank you. I am at work when Hannah's writings come across, so it is the perfect break for me to center myself. I get the feeling that we will be pre-ordering her first book on Amazon in the near future. Much love to you.
My family (about 50 of us!) have met at Litchfield-by-the-Sea in South Carolina every summer for the past 32 years. It's home, I crave it, that dark blue/green ocean calls to me each year stronger than anything I've ever known. Nothing like the beach to cleanse your soul! 💙
Southern writers are hard to come by, Miss Hannah. Our worlds ARE different and I believe we have our own language to describe them. I hope you find the words to write your own book(s). Where the toes meet the tide is THE best beach book EVER !
That just went straight to my heart, thank you. You’re so right… we do have our own language down here. A little slower, a little sweeter, and full of feeling. It means the world to hear you say that. “Where the toes meet the tide” might just be the start of something. I felt that line in my bones when I wrote it. Thank you for seeing the beauty in it and in this Southern soul of mine. I hope I do us proud one day with a book. 💛
My fondest memories are of my family going to the beach in Southern California every other weekend. 50 years later I can still smell the corn cooking in the firepit and the hotdogs on the grill. About 10 to 12 families would show up and we kids would swim, run our butts off, play frisbee, lay in the warm sand and tell stories at night sitting on the lifeguard shack. Our parents would be playing cards, talking about the kids, drinking and laughing. Always so much laughing. The best memories. Thanks for the reminder. ❤️
So happy for you guys❤️ I love the beach. We were just in FL a couple of weeks ago. I've become more of a mountain girl the older I get. Keep making those memories and I'm on board with the others. You really need to write a book. You have a beautiful way with words💜
Hannah, oh how your words ring true to me as well. The ocean has a way of clearing out the cobwebs doesnt it! Its my happy place also. Born and raised near the ocean south of Savannah it calls to me... cherish your days with James and your babies cause they fly by to fast.... and yes I do agree with the rest here that you should write a book, I for one would buy it! If ya want a great beach read pick up The Secret to Hummingbird Cake!!! Its a treasure for sure. Oh and wear your sunscreen young lady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bring swifter dusters to wipe off the sand between your baby toes! Not much of a beach person any longer due to my favorite sister passing away, that was her happy place.😕😞
I understand completely. My youngest sister passed away at 17 years old. She and I had so much fun at the beach. The long talks on the lifeguard shack trying to figure what life would bring us. The best memories of her and I there. ❤️I hope you remember all the best times you had with her.
Preordered your book on Amazon!! Craving more of your beautiful stories! I can almost smell the salt air. My precious husband and I always went to Daytona Beach for at least 20+ years. I lost him to pancreatic cancer last May after almost 48 years of marriage. I'm so, so thankful for the memories! And when you write your book, save me a copy! ❤️
When I live in Niceville, FL when I got streesed out driving by the bay, parking getting out to stand by the water lets the stress drop away. I miss driving by water up here in TN
